From concept to final product

3D Printing Idea
Got a initial idea scratched out in photoshop or maybe just in pencil on a notepad?
We can help get your design from idea to final item in no time.

3D Design
Your idea is designed using the latest 3D rendering software with incredible detail, which means we can print accurate designs with a resolution of 0.05 mm

3D Printing
The 3D design is then printed using one of two technologies, either FDM filament or SLA resin.

3D part in your hand
Around a week later your 3D printed model or part will be ready for delivery.

New to 3D Printing?
Interested in getting something printed or designed but you’re new to 3D printing?
Check the video out by Alex Berkowitz for a quick run through of the basics.
We use two techniques to 3D print here at Ant Print, the first is called Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) which prints parts using thermoplastic filament extruded from a nozzle layer by layer. Our other technique is called Stereolithography (SLA) which is resin based and each layer is cured one on top of the other by UV light.

Bring your ideas to life
Once we have consulted with you over your design brief, our team of experts will work diligently to convert it into a 3D design ready for printing. Thanks to our state-of-the-art technology, we can move from the final idea to a print-ready design rapidly, depending on the scale of the project.
If you already have a print-ready design, you can skip the design phase and proceed directly to printing. Please ensure that all files are in the STL file format, as we do not use CAD or GCODE files for printing.
When it comes to printing, we can assist you in selecting the appropriate print technique and material for your project. Our extensive range of printing materials and colors ensures that you’ll be able to find the perfect option for your project. Trust Ant Print to deliver high-quality 3D printing solutions for all your needs.

Marvellous Materials
We have a huge variety of FDM filament colours and types to choose from such as standard base colours, pastels, glow in the dark, gradient colours, rainbowed, translucent and metallic.
The SLA resins are just as numerous in colour and type but with the added bonus of medical grade, wax and various other types of resin.
- PLA FDM Filament – Great for prototyping or model making with good mechanical properties, great for reasonable strength items but poor for areas where the ambient temp is over 40c.
- PETG FDM Filament – Stronger than PLA creating harder wearing parts and models, also a good choice for food safe items, it should also be good in ambient temps up to at least 70°C (160°F), and more commonly 90°C (195°F)
- ABS FDM Filament – The most durable of the three thermoplastics and perfect for parts that get used often, this comes at a colour choice cost, with ABS lacking a wide colour palette, we don’t use this type at present but will be doing so in the future.
- TPU FDM Filament – Is a rubber like material which creates flexible parts and products, TPU is great for prototyping rubber parts, we don’t use this type at present but will be doing so in the future.
- Standard and Clear SLA Resin – Is a great material for ultra high detailed models and prototypes, but is brittle in comparison to other resins and FDM filaments, also good for higher ambient temp areas of 40-60c.
- Tough ABS like SLA Resin – Hard wearing resin material which still offers ultra high detail, but with the added bonus of more robustness and flexabililty than standard resin.
- Durable PP like SLA Resin – Used for making more durable parts and models yet still retains high detail, it’s also wear-resistant and flexible with mechanical properties similar to Polypropylene (PP)
- Heat Resistant SLA Resin – This resin is perfect for applications that require high thermal stability and the ability to operate at high temperatures. These resins have a heat deflection temperature between 200-300°C and are ideal for manufacturing heat-resistant fixtures, mold prototypes and other high heat part needs.
- Medical Grade SLA Resin (class I) – Class I biocompatible resins can be used to make custom medical equipment, such as surgical guides. Parts printed in this resin can be steam sterilized using an autoclave, for direct use in the operating room.
- Medical Grade SLA Resin (class IIa) – Class IIa biocompatible resin is specially engineered for long-term orthodontic appliances. Class IIa biocompatible resins can be in contact with the human body for up to a year.
It’s ideal for manufacturing long-term dental appliances, fracture- and wear-resistant medical parts, hard splits and retainers.
